Eaton Avenue between Webster Avenue and Rhea Avenue will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday, April 1, 2024 at 9am until Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 5pm.
This closure is necessary to repair underground utilities in advance of the Eaton Avenue resurfacing project. It will occur block by block between Webster and Rhea Avenues during the three week period. The closure will coincide with Hamilton City School District's spring break to lessen the impact.
While we understand the significant negative impact of this closure, this work will get Hamilton one step closer to an improved Eaton Avenue.

The opposite sides of a die will always add up to seven. If you take a look, you'll see that one and six are on opposite sides of the cube (1+6=7), as are two and five (2+5=7), and three and four (3+4=7).
Alaska is the only state whose name is on one row on a keyboard. With "A" and "S" being beside each other on the middle row of the standard QWERTY keyboard and "K" and "L" over on the other side of the same row, Alaska is the only state name that you can type out using a single row on a keyboard.
Dragonflies have six legs but can't walk. You might have seen a dragonfly hanging out on a plant in your garden or zipping around in the air above a pond. But we can guarantee that you've never seen a dragonfly parading across a picnic table or strolling along a branch. That's because, despite having six legs like other insects, a dragonfly's legs are too weak for them to walk on for lengthy amounts of time.

Every year, April Fools' Day is celebrated on April 1. While its exact origins are unclear, many historians trace April Fools' back to 1582, the History Channel and the Library of Congress report.
That year, France changed its calendar system from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar. According to the Julian calendar, each year began on the spring equinox, which usually fell around April 1. Under the Gregorian Calendar, however, the new year started on January 1.
In France, many were unaware of the calendar change and continued to celebrate the new year during the last week of March through April 1. These people were considered the "butt of jokes and hoaxes" and were named "April fools," according to the History Channel.
Others maintain that April Fools' derives from the Roman festival of Hilaria, which is Latin for "joyful." Hilaria was celebrated at the end of March by devotees of the goddess Cybele, the History Channel reports. During the festival, followers would dress up in disguises and trick townspeople.
While it is believed April Fools' became more established in the 1580s, the idea of pranking someone on this day was first referenced a few decades prior, according to the Library of Congress. A 1561 Flemish poem by Eduard De Dene chronicles a servant who was sent on a series of pointless errands. When the servant noticed that the date was April 1, he realized he had been sent on "foolβs errands."
In 1686, John Aubrey mentions "Fooles Holy Day" in the book "Remaines of Gentilisme and Judaisme," writing "We observe it on the first of April."
