Hold onto your hats, folks, because it's official: Hamilton's dream of having a free shuttle service is becoming a reality! Despite initial worries about costs, the city of Hamilton has swooped in to save the day and is gearing up to launch the much-needed LocalMotive shuttle service.
Picture this: a vibrant, bustling city core where residents and visitors alike can hop aboard a sleek GEM e6 vehicle, all courtesy of LocalMotive. Economic Development Manager Jody Gunderson couldn't contain his enthusiasm as he revealed that after a brief setback, the city received a game-changing email from LocalMotive, signaling their intention to forge ahead with the business.
But wait, it gets better! With the visionary minds of the Wards - Dustin, Devan, and Derrick - along with Hamilton's support, a whopping $90,000 Commercial Revolving Loan Fund is on the table. That's right, folks! This injection of funds, recommended by the Hamilton Community Improvement Corporation, is poised to turbocharge the launch of LocalMotive.
And hold onto your seats because the excitement doesn't stop there! This revolutionary shuttle service isn't just about transportation; it's about community engagement and economic empowerment. With snazzy in-vehicle iPads showcasing local activities and digital advertising opportunities, LocalMotive is set to revolutionize the way we explore our city.
But wait, there's more! Brace yourselves for the grand unveiling: a thrilling route that promises to whisk passengers away on a journey of discovery and convenience. With plans to operate Thursday through Sunday, the city is fine-tuning the route to ensure maximum impact.
And guess what? It's not just about convenience; it's about transforming our cityscape. By keeping more cars off the roads and tourists flocking to local businesses, LocalMotive is a game-changer for Hamilton's economic and traffic woes.
But don't just take our word for it! Mayor Pat Moeller is throwing his weight behind this exciting venture, calling it a fantastic use of the revolving loan fund. And Councilman Tim Naab? He's practically bursting with excitement, envisioning a future where LocalMotive's route expands, propelling our city to even greater heights.
So mark your calendars, folks! City Council is gearing up to give the green light at its March 13 meeting, paving the way for LocalMotive to hit the streets and transform Hamilton into a city like no other. Get ready to hop aboard the LocalMotive hype train - the ride of a lifetime awaits! ππ

Ohio Schools To Integrate AI In The Classroom
The integration of ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence program, has introduced transformative changes to classroom dynamics. This technology enables students to delve into complex subjects such as Shakespearean literature analysis, advanced mathematics problem-solving, and even artistic creation.
Despite concerns among educators regarding potential issues such as plagiarism and data privacy, Ohio has embraced this technology with a proactive approach. Under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor John Husted, InnovateOhio has spearheaded the release of a comprehensive toolkit aimed at guiding students, parents, and educators on the ethical incorporation of AI tools into the educational landscape.
Ohio stands among 13 states actively developing guidance on the utilization of emerging technologies within educational settings. Lieutenant Governor Husted emphasized the importance of preparing students for success in an AI-driven world through this toolkit, underscoring Ohio's commitment to leadership in navigating the challenges and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence.
The toolkit provides valuable resources, including a template for superintendents to effectively communicate with parents regarding AI usage, guidance for teachers on identifying and addressing instances of AI-enabled cheating, and an introductory course on AI tailored for parents.
In school districts such as Chagrin Falls Exempted Village Schools in northeast Ohio, AI technology has already begun to revolutionize the learning experience. Molly Klodor, the districtβs instructional technology coach, highlights the transformative impact AI has had on student engagement and personalized learning. For instance, students can interact with AI-driven simulations to explore topics like tree life cycles, fostering a more dynamic and immersive learning environment compared to traditional methods.
Furthermore, AI technology empowers teachers to streamline administrative tasks and enhance curriculum development. Teachers can leverage AI tools to generate test questions, draft syllabi, and optimize instructional materials, ultimately saving time and fostering innovation in teaching practices.
While acknowledging the potential of AI to augment educational practices, Klodor underscores the importance of maintaining a human-centric approach in the classroom. She emphasizes the necessity of fact-checking and critical evaluation of AI-generated content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
At Chagrin Falls, extensive efforts have been invested in training teachers and facilitating their adoption of AI technology. Klodor emphasizes the importance of collaborative decision-making and teacher input in expanding the integration of AI across educational contexts.
Ultimately, the toolkit serves as a valuable resource for educators navigating the complexities of integrating AI into teaching and learning environments. Through collaborative efforts and thoughtful implementation, AI holds the potential to enrich educational experiences and prepare students for success in an increasingly AI-driven world.
