Exciting Progress Unfolding at West Hamilton Plaza
1499 Main St
Orthodontic Practice Spearheads Development!
In the heart of Main Street, West Hamilton Plaza is swiftly taking shape as a vibrant shopping center, with an orthodontic practice leading the charge as its pioneering tenant. Joe Doxsey, the dedicated real estate agent from Berkshire Hathaway Professional Realty overseeing retail leasing, shares optimistic updates on the project's trajectory.
"Our timeline aims for shell construction and parking lot completion by mid-July, weather permitting, followed by the grand opening of our first tenants come mid-November," affirms Doxsey, brimming with anticipation.
Nestled west of the beloved Steak 'n Shake restaurant, this promising development curated by Dr. Kevin J. Ison, the visionary owner/developer behind Orthodontic Specialists, promises to inject fresh vitality into the area. As Orthodontic Specialists gears up to occupy 2,000 to 3,000 square feet of the expansive 12,780-square-foot complex, the stage is set for a bustling hub of activity.
"We're thrilled to unveil additional tenants in the near future, riding on the crest of heightened leasing interest post-COVID-19. Retailers are pivoting towards expansion, and West Hamilton Plaza is primed to accommodate," shares Doxsey, underscoring the robust demand for retail space in the burgeoning landscape.
With Orthodontic Specialists already boasting eight thriving locations in the Cincinnati area, their decision to fortify their presence in Hamilton underscores their commitment to the community's growth and prosperity.
"Our journey with Hamilton has been immensely rewarding, thanks to the collaborative spirit of the city staff. We're proud to contribute to Hamilton's evolution and are exploring further development opportunities in the pipeline," enthuses Doxsey, a testament to their enduring investment in the city's flourishing trajectory.
Situated at the crossroads of Northwest Washington Boulevard and Main Street, West Hamilton Plaza strategically positions itself amidst bustling thoroughfares and thriving businesses, ensuring a steady stream of foot traffic.
"Our strategic location, coupled with the vibrant commercial ecosystem surrounding us, makes West Hamilton Plaza a coveted destination for retailers seeking prime real estate," adds Doxsey, citing the allure of nearby retail giants like Meijer, Walmart, Aldi, Lowe's, and Kroger.
Reflecting on Hamilton's recent transformation, with downtown revitalization, the advent of Spooky Nook Sports Champion Mill, and the buzz surrounding Chipotle's debut in 2020, Doxsey underscores the city's dynamic evolution.
"As Hamilton's landscape continues to evolve, with Main Street emerging as a vibrant epicenter of culinary delights and retail treasures, West Hamilton Plaza stands poised to carve its own niche as a community hub," concludes Doxsey, brimming with optimism for the city's boundless potential.

Dear Concerned Parents and Guardians,
It has come to our attention that there is a serious issue concerning the safety of children's meals currently circulating in the market.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert regarding trays of fully cooked chicken and spaghetti meals intended for kids.
According to the FSIS, the spaghetti included in these meals contains egg white, a well-known allergen, which has not been properly declared on the product label. This omission poses a significant risk to children who may suffer from egg allergies.
The specific product in question is the 5.9-ounce trays of “nurture life KIDS MEALS CHICKEN PARM WITH SUPER VEGGIE SPAGHETTI,” with “enjoy by” dates ranging from Jan. 9 to March 1. Shockingly, these packages lack USDA marks of inspection, further exacerbating the concern for their safety.
Even more alarming is the distribution method of these meals. They were sold online and shipped directly to consumers, which means they could be present in numerous households across the country.
It is deeply troubling that this issue was only brought to light during an internal audit by the company, rather than being detected through rigorous quality control measures before reaching the market.
As a consumer advocate deeply invested in the welfare of families, we implore anyone who may have these kids' meals in their refrigerators or freezers to refrain from consuming them. Instead, dispose of them immediately and contact the seller for a refund.
For those seeking further information or with questions regarding this alarming alert, we urge you to reach out to Nurture Life Inc. co-founder Jennifer Chow at [email protected] or 312-517-1888.

Numerous Hamilton Graduates Anticipated to Embrace Free Tuition Opportunity at Miami Hamilton
Wonderful news is on the horizon for students at Hamilton High School, Butler Tech, and Stephen T. Badin Catholic High School as they embark on their journey towards higher education. Thanks to the Miami Regionals Hamilton Promise, a heartwarming collaboration between the Hamilton Community Foundation, Miami University Regionals, and the City of Hamilton, eligible students will have the incredible opportunity to pursue their dreams with free tuition for 2-year or 4-year degrees at Miami Hamilton.
This initiative aims to support Pell-Grant eligible students who have attended one of these esteemed schools in Hamilton for four years, while also being a resident of Hamilton throughout their high school journey. With a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher, along with the completion of the FAFSA by April 1, 2024, these students can step into their future without the burden of tuition fees at Miami Hamilton.
Jacob Stone-Welch, the compassionate director of donor services for Hamilton Community Foundation, joyfully announces the commencement of this promise starting this fall, allowing graduating high school seniors to apply for the scholarship for the fall semester of 2024.
Understanding the financial considerations of higher education, it's heartening to know that Pell-Grant eligible students will receive support based on various factors such as their Expected Family Contribution, cost of attendance, and student status. While precise figures are yet to be determined, it's estimated that approximately 50-100 students will benefit from this program annually.
Thanks to the generous contribution of $663,000 over five years from the Hamilton Community Foundation, this initiative is set to make a meaningful impact on the lives of countless students in the community.
Trevor House, an admission counselor for Miami Regionals Office of Admissions, shares his enthusiasm for the opportunities this program presents to students. He expresses his excitement for the students of Hamilton High School and Badin High School, recognizing the potential for them to pursue higher education without the financial strain, provided they meet the necessary criteria.
This promise not only paves the way for students to achieve their academic aspirations but also fosters personal growth and development. As Jacob Stone-Welch aptly puts it, "Educational attainment is a leading factor in the success of any individual, but whenever you translate that across many individuals, it also impacts our whole community." We are truly honored to be a part of this transformative program that empowers students and strengthens our community as a whole.

Established in 1908

Why your property taxes went up, and what to do now
Homeowners in Hamilton, Butler, and Clermont counties are grappling with unexpected spikes in their property tax bills following recent reappraisals that substantially hiked home values. Concerned residents are questioning county officials about the steep increase, especially when some neighborhoods are experiencing decreases. They urge authorities to take action to protect financially strained homeowners from potential foreclosure.
Ohio law mandates County Auditors to reassess all real property every six years, with a triennial update in the third year post-reappraisal. The aim is to ensure fair valuation compared to similar properties and adjust values closer to market rates based on recent sales. Butler County conducted its triennial update in 2023.
If homeowners disagree with their property's assessed value, they can appeal to the Board of Revision by submitting DTE Form 1 by April 1. The form and detailed instructions are accessible on the Auditor’s website:

State funds called ‘critical’ for Boys & Girls Clubs of Hamilton renovation project
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Hamilton were built by local donors in the 1960s and ‘70s. Thousands of kids have traveled through the two facilities, which still have wooden backboards and hand cranks to lower and raise them. Our children deserve an upgrade.
Contact your senator and tell them we need this.
