Aug 1st - Almost time for back to school
Congrats, you just joined the best newsletter in Hamilton! |
Welcome to the Hamilton Thrive Newsletter! We bring you the juiciest local news and events every weekday at 6 AM. Unlike my days delivering the Northwest Press 🗞️ on my bicycle, it will arrive quietly in your inbox, not in the bushes by the front door! 🤣 |
When will you be getting these enthralling emails? 6 AM Monday thru Saturday but we are taking Sunday off. In the meantime, we'd like to get to know what’s going on in your world. We have a Community Billboardwhere we will post your events, yard sales, reunions, birthdays, etc. Send an email with your happenings to [email protected] |
I'm looking forward to sharing all the Hamilton happenings with you. If you just can't wait to read the Thrive, you can read any of our back issues here. |
I have made some changes to the format to address the suggestions that were made. My number one goal is your satisfaction. Remember - majority rules. Make your voice heard at [email protected]
Sincerely,
Joe Enderle, Editor In Chief - Hamilton Thrive

As a gymnastics coach, I’ve seen it all—the dazzling performances of a Simone Biles and the incredible determination of athletes who may not always steal the spotlight but are heroes in their own right. Stephen Nedoroscik is a perfect example of this kind of hero. (Spoiler alert: If you haven’t watched the Men’s gymnastics final yet, you’re in for a thrilling surprise!)
Stephen’s story is nothing short of inspiring. When he didn’t progress in gymnastics the way he hoped, he didn’t quit. Instead, he focused intensely on his strength—the pommel horse. His dedication and expertise in this event earned him a reputation as a specialist and a vital spot on the team due to his impressive performances.
During the team finals yesterday, Stephen was the embodiment of team spirit. He was the one bringing water, offering high fives, and cheering on his teammates with unmatched enthusiasm. His support was invaluable, and he showed what it means to be a true team player.
Then came his turn. As the last competitor in the team’s final rotation, Stephen faced the monumental task of delivering a routine that could end a 16-year medal drought for the Americans. The pressure was immense, almost like something out of a classic sports movie (cue the “Do you believe in miracles?” moment).
While the tension in the gym mounted, Stephen remained composed. He took a moment to meditate, letting a smile touch his face as he listened to the cheers for his teammates. When his time came, he transformed from the focused competitor into a powerhouse performer, shedding his jacket and glasses with the confidence of a superhero. And then, he absolutely crushed it!
Stephen’s journey to the top of his sport wasn’t traditional, but it led him to an Olympic Bronze medal. His path serves as a reminder that success doesn’t follow a single formula, and there’s no one way to live a fulfilling life or discover your purpose.
Be true to who you are, and you might find yourself as the hero of your own story. Every member of the U.S. Men’s Gymnastics team played a crucial role yesterday, and they all rose to the occasion.
Congratulations to the U.S. Men’s Gymnastics team and to Stephen Nedoroscik. Job well done!

Tropics could boost tornadoes, severe weather
Fall features a second severe weather season as waves of cold air begin to dive southward, clashing with the warm and humid air entrenched across most of the central and eastern portions of the nation.
This year has already been extremely active in terms of severe weather, including over 1,400 tornado reports, higher than the historical average for the entire year. An uptick in tropical storms and hurricanes can boost the tornado count even higher.

11 Simple Health Habits Worth Adopting Into Your Life
Correct your posture
When you were a kid, did your parents ever scold you for having bad posture? Well, the bad news is that they were right. Having good posture can prevent aches and can also reduce stress on your ligaments. Not only that, but good posture prevents backache, fatigue and muscle pain.
“You can try to leave yourself a note to sit up straight until it becomes an unconscious habit,” notes Travers. “Walking with your shoulders back and head held high can also make you feel good about yourself.”
While teaching yourself to have better posture isn’t something that can be fixed right away, reminding yourself to sit up straight has a positive effect on your overall health.
