Hamilton! Thrive Issue #168
July 2nd - Lots Of Celebrating This Week !!
Congrats, you just joined the best newsletter in Hamilton! |
Welcome to the Hamilton Thrive Newsletter! We bring you the juiciest local news and events every weekday at 6 AM. Unlike my days delivering the Northwest Press ๐๏ธ on my bicycle, it will arrive quietly in your inbox, not in the bushes by the front door! ๐คฃ |
You might be wondering, "What makes Hamilton Thrive different from all the other newsletters out there?" Great question. |
For starters, we have a strict no-boring policy. Even if we're writing about โexcitingโ topics like budgets and road closures. We keep it interesting like watching PeeWee baseball! |
So when can you expect to start getting these enthralling emails? 6 AM of whatever is the closest weekday. In the meantime, we'd like to get to know whatโs going on in your world. We have a Community Billboard where we will post your events, yard sales, reunions, birthdays, etc. Send an email with your happenings to [email protected] |
I'm looking forward to sharing all the Hamilton happenings with you. If you just can't wait to read the Thrive, you can read any of our back issues here. |
I have made some changes to the format to address the suggestions that were made. My number one goal is your satisfaction. Remember - majority rules. Make your voice heard at [email protected]
Sincerely,
Joe Enderle, Editor In Chief - Hamilton Thrive

Hamilton City Schools names Andrea Blevins As Its Next Superintendent
Andrea Blevins stands poised to lead Hamilton City Schools into a promising future. Following Superintendent Mike Holbrook's retirement at the end of the 2024-2025 school year, Blevins, currently serving as one of the district's associate superintendents, has been entrusted with this pivotal role by the school board.
In her 20-year career dedicated to education, Blevins has embodied a philosophy centered on putting students, staff, parents, and the community at the heart of decision-making. Reflecting on her journey, she expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support of her familyโhusband Curtis and children Matthew and Emmaโwho have been her pillars of strength.
"I'm humbled by the enormity of this moment," Blevins shared emotionally, acknowledging the transformative power of education in her own life as a first-generation college graduate. "Education is not just a job; it's a passion and a mission."
Blevins emphasized her commitment to a seamless transition alongside Superintendent Holbrook over the coming school year, aiming for a plan that will propel the district forward positively. Her vision for Hamilton City Schools revolves around what she calls the "five important Cs": collaboration, community, culture, consistency, and connection. She intends to foster these values through robust partnerships with city leaders, district staff, parents, students, and the wider community, aiming to make Hamilton a vibrant hub for living, working, playing, and learning.
Throughout her career in Butler County, spanning roles in Edgewood City Schools, Middletown City Schools, and more recently in Hamilton, Blevins has consistently demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and a deep understanding of educational dynamics.
Mike Holbrook, endorsing Blevins as his successor, affirmed her as "the logical choice" for superintendent, citing her leadership acumen and collaborative spirit. "She understands that solutions to many problems come from working together," Holbrook emphasized.
Looking ahead, Blevins invited the community to join her in shaping the future vision of Hamilton City Schools, underscoring her unwavering belief in the city and its potential. "Clear eyes, full heart, can't lose," she concluded, echoing the optimism and determination that will undoubtedly guide her tenure as superintendent.
I am confident that Andrea Blevins will lead Hamilton City Schools with integrity, empathy, and a steadfast commitment to excellence. Her dedication to education and her deep-rooted connection to the community make her not only a capable leader but also a beacon of inspiration for students and educators alike.
