Hamilton! Thrive Issue #153
June 12th -New Format - Work In Progress - Give Me Your Input
Congrats, you just joined the best newsletter in Hamilton! |
Welcome to the Hamilton Thrive Newsletter! We bring you the juiciest local news and events every weekday at 6 AM. Unlike my days delivering the Northwest Press ποΈ on my bicycle, it will arrive quietly in your inbox, not in the bushes by the front door! π€£ |
You might be wondering, "What makes Hamilton Thrive different from all the other newsletters out there?" Great question. |
For starters, we have a strict no-boring policy. Even if we're writing about βexcitingβ topics like budgets and road closures. We keep it interesting like watching PeeWee baseball! |
So when can you expect to start getting these enthralling emails? 6 AM of whatever is the closest weekday. In the meantime, we'd like to get to know whatβs going on in your world. We have a Community Billboard where we will post your events, yard sales, reunions, birthdays, etc. Send an email with your happenings to [email protected] |
I'm looking forward to sharing all the Hamilton happenings with you. If you just can't wait to read the Thrive, you can read any of our back issues here. |
Changes coming to newsletter. Iβm hoping to address all the requests and remain true to you my readers. Remember - majority rules. Make your voice heard at [email protected]
Sincerely,
Joe Enderle, Editor In Chief - Hamilton Thrive

Greetings from Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park and Museum! We're thrilled to unveil our summer schedule, now with extended weekend hours from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday through Sunday until Sept. 22.
Weβre excited to highlight the family-friendly atmosphere we've cultivated this summer. Maria Jenkins, our education and programs manager, expresses our enthusiasm: "We've curated a lineup of programs that cater to all ages, ensuring that families can come together to explore art and nature while creating lasting memories."
Summer at Pyramid Hill is bursting with activities suitable for everyone from age 4 to adults. Delaney French, our marketing and sales manager, shares, "We're introducing new programs while also bringing back beloved favorites. From the 'Summer Series for Kids' to the delightful 'Dogs & Doughnuts,' there's something for every member of the family to enjoy."
In collaboration with The Lane Libraries, we're thrilled to introduce "Story Time for Littles." This engaging program, designed for children aged 4 and under (though older siblings are welcome!), encourages storytelling, movement, play, and creativity against the backdrop of art and nature. Best of all, it's included with general park admission and runs from 10-11 a.m. on select Fridays in June, July, and August.
Due to popular demand, "Dogs & Doughnuts" is back by paw-pular demand! On July 6th, furry companions and their human friends can create tie-dye bandanas, while August 3rd offers the opportunity for caricature portraits and paw print bouquets. This program, running from 10-11:30 a.m., promises tail-wagging fun for all without any registration required.
And who could forget our beloved "Family Fun on the Hill" series? Each month in June, July, and August, families are invited to immerse themselves in themed activities and crafts, exploring the park while bonding over art and nature. With themes like "Invisible," "Strike a Pose," and "Sounds All Around," there's endless excitement awaiting. Just drop in during the designated Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with no registration necessary.
Join us for a summer of creativity, exploration, and family fun amidst the stunning landscapes of Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park and Museum. For more details on our programs, visit www.pyramidhill.org.

Natural Health and Nutrition Tips That Are Evidence-Based
Avoid restrictive diets
Diets are generally ineffective and rarely work well long term. In fact, past dieting is one of the strongest predictors for future weight gain.
This is because overly restrictive diets actually lower your metabolic rate, or the amount of calories you burn, making it more difficult to lose weight. At the same time, they also cause alterations to your hunger and satiety hormones, which make you hungrier and may cause strong food cravings for foods high in fat, calories, and sugar.
All of this is a recipe for rebound weight gain, or βyoyoβ dieting.
Instead of dieting, try adopting a healthier lifestyle. Focus on nourishing your body instead of depriving it.
Weight loss should follow as you transition to whole, nutritious foods β which are naturally more filling while containing fewer calories than processed foods.
