Hamilton! Thrive Issue #144
May 31th -Festival Schedule Updated Today
Congrats, you just joined the best newsletter in Hamilton! |
Welcome to the Hamilton Thrive Newsletter! We bring you the juiciest local news and events every weekday at 6 AM. Unlike my days delivering the Northwest Press ποΈ on my bicycle, it will arrive quietly in your inbox, not in the bushes by the front door! π€£ |
You might be wondering, "What makes Hamilton Thrive different from all the other newsletters out there?" Great question. |
For starters, we have a strict no-boring policy. Even if we're writing about βexcitingβ topics like budgets and road closures. We keep it interesting like watching PeeWee baseball! |
So when can you expect to start getting these enthralling emails? 6 AM of whatever is the closest weekday. In the meantime, we'd like to get to know whatβs going on in your world. We have a Community Billboard where we will post your events, yard sales, reunions, birthdays, etc. Send an email with your happenings to [email protected] |
I'm looking forward to sharing all the Hamilton happenings with you. If you just can't wait to read the Thrive, you can read any of our back issues here. |

Andrea Holden Signs Letter Of Intent With Wright State U. In Dayton
Hey there, sports fans! Hold onto your seats because we've got some electrifying news coming straight from Wright State! Get ready to pump up the volume because the Raiders just scored big time!
In a move that's set the courts ablaze with excitement, Wright State proudly announced today the signing of none other than the sensational Andrea Holden! Standing tall at a towering 6-foot-6, this high-flying wing from Hamilton is ready to bring the heat to the court!
Holden isn't just any player β oh no, he's a superstar in the making! Last season, he lit up the court as an All-GMC performer, dazzling fans with his incredible skills. And let's not forget his impressive stats β averaging 12.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game! Talk about dominating the game!
But hold onto your hats, folks, because there's more! New Raiders head coach Clint Sargent can't contain his excitement, calling Holden a "hidden gem." And you know what? He's absolutely right! With Holden's athleticism, killer instincts, and growing skill set, he's about to take Wright State by storm!
And that's not all, folks! Joining Holden in the 2024 recruiting class is none other than the unstoppable force from Shelby, Ohio β Alex Bruskotter!
Coach Sargent, the mastermind behind this dream team, is pumped to welcome Holden and Bruskotter into the Wright State family! With their talent, passion, and dedication, these players are the perfect fit for the Raider culture!
So, get ready, sports fans, because the future of Wright State basketball is looking brighter than ever! With Holden representing Hamilton and Shelbyan Bruskotter leading the charge, the Raiders are gearing up for an epic season ahead! Get your game faces on because it's game time at Wright State β and trust me, you won't want to miss a single moment of the action! Go Raiders!

As part of the celebration of Butler County Regional Transit Authority's 30th anniversary, the agency will provide limited free bus service on weekends starting next month.
Hey everyone, have you heard the news? Our city center is about to get a whole lot more accessible on weekends! Thanks to the Butler County Regional Transit Authority celebrating its 30th anniversary, we're in for a treat β free weekend bus service starting next month.
I can't wait to hop on board and see where it takes me! Businesses here in Hamilton are buzzing with excitement, and for good reason. This shuttle service is like a breath of fresh air for our community.
The Summer of Celebration Shuttle, as they're calling it, is a fantastic initiative. It's set to run from June 21 to Aug. 24, just in time for Hamilpalooza.
It's all about making life easier for us locals. The shuttle will zip along High and Main streets, making it a breeze to explore our vibrant urban core. And get this β it's completely free! Talk about a win-win.
With the shuttle running from 5 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and noon to midnight on Saturdays, we've got plenty of time to make the most of it. Plus, businesses are getting in on the action too. I've heard there'll be specials galore on the opening weekend, and shuttle riders even get a punch card for freebies and giveaways.
But it's not just about fun and games β this pilot program could pave the way for more public transportation options in the future. Passenger data will be tracked during the trial run to advocate for even better transit solutions down the line. Now that's what I call forward thinking!
As a resident who loves this city, I couldn't be happier. More people discovering our local gems like Sara's House and Tano Bistro? Sign me up! And with Hamilpalooza expanding beyond Marcum Park, thanks to the shuttle, it's shaping up to be one epic summer.
So, who's ready to explore our city center in style? I'll see you on the bus! And if you want to know more about the routes and stops, just check out the Butler County RTA's website or their social media accounts. Let's make this summer one to remember! πβ¨

Natural Health and Nutrition Tips That Are Evidence-Based
Use extra virgin olive oil
Extra virgin olive oil is one of the healthiest vegetable oils you can use. Itβs loaded with heart-healthy monounsaturated fats and powerful antioxidants that have anti-inflammatory properties.
Extra virgin olive oil may benefit heart health, as people who consume it have a lower risk for dying from heart attacks and strokes according to some evidence.
