The 2024 Gas Leak Survey will begin in May and is anticipated to be complete in August. Below, you'll find a link to help you determine if your address is part of the survey.
City of Hamilton
May 15, 2024
The City of Hamilton Department of Public Works - Gas and Water Distribution Division is required by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Code of Federal Regulation Title 49, Part 192 to periodically conduct leakage and an atmospheric corrosion surveys on all natural gas piping up to the outlet of the natural gas meter.
The 2024 Gas Leak Survey will begin in May and is anticipated to be complete in August. Please click HERE for an online map to determine if your address is part of the 2024 Gas Leak Survey.
The Notification Process
The City of Hamilton has hired Southern Cross to conduct this survey. The employees performing the survey will have proper ID with them. The inspection takes approximately five to ten minutes to complete and will require access to the inside or outside natural gas meter and associated natural gas piping.
Typically, on the day of the survey, the representatives will stop by the residence and request access to the inside or outside natural gas meter and the associated natural gas piping. The survey is conducted Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm. If no one is at the residence, a door hanger will be left informing the resident to call the City of Hamilton to schedule the inside natural gas meter inspection.
If an inside natural gas meter is not inspected, the natural gas service to the property will be disconnected after further notification has been provided to the resident. A $50 trip fee will be accessed to the residentโs utility bill if the City of Hamilton completes a disconnection. The City of Hamilton will provide three notices to the resident prior to the natural gas service to the property being shut off.
If your residence does not have natural gas service, please disregard this notice.

Shooters Sports Grill To Be Open In June In The Old Danbarry Theatre
Get ready, sports fans, because Hamilton is about to get a serious upgrade in its game-watching scene! The highly-anticipated Shooters Sports Grill is gearing up to open its doors in the first week of June, and let me tell you, it's going to be a game-changer.
Located in the revamped former Danbarry Theater, this triple threat of a venue is set to impress. Picture this: a whopping 15,000-square-foot space housing Shooters Sports Grill, complete with a mammoth 10-foot-by-20-foot screen looming over a 33-seat bar. But that's not all folks! Nestled in the back, there's a 6,000-square-foot gem dubbed the Washington Event Center, primed to host everything from weddings to live music gigs. And if that's not enough to get you excited, hold onto your seats because there's even a 6,000-square-foot spot earmarked for a future restaurant tenant.
Now, let's talk about the piรจce de rรฉsistance: the Hamilton Jumbotron. As soon as you step foot into this movie-theater-turned-sports haven, your eyes will be treated to a spectacle of televisions galore. Todd and Alison Helton, the masterminds behind this epic venture, have decked out the joint with not just any old sports memorabilia, but also a whopping 40 TVs ranging from 75 to 85 inches, each boasting its own programming. And get this, folks โ they've even carved out dedicated team rooms for those jubilant youth sports squads, club gatherings, or die-hard fantasy football leagues in need of a spot to hash out their draft strategies.
But wait, there's more! The Heltons have pulled out all the stops in the culinary department too, boasting a colossal state-of-the-art kitchen and a staggering 48 taps pouring out 24 tantalizing options. And when the weather's fine, patrons can spill out onto the spacious 75-seat patio, courtesy of a nifty garage door entrance.
Now, I know what you're thinking โ what about that adjacent restaurant space? Fear not, dear sports aficionados, for Todd Helton assures us that once Shooters, the bar, and the event center are up and running smoothly, that space will be the talk of the town.
Opening its doors daily at 11 a.m. and keeping the game-day vibes alive until 11 p.m. on weeknights and midnight on weekends, Shooters aims to be the go-to spot for post-game celebrations and late-night rendezvous.
And if you're wondering why the opening date got pushed back a couple of times, well, as Todd Helton puts it, "it's a big project." But rest assured, once you step foot inside this sports paradise, you'll understand why the wait was worth it.
With the Hamilton Shooters marking the first franchise of its kind, it's clear that this is more than just your average sports bar. Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Dan Bates sums it up perfectly, describing it as "Shooters on steroids." So, get ready to be wowed, because this is one sports bar experience you won't want to miss!

Natural Health and Nutrition Tips That Are Evidence-Based
Avoid bright lights before sleep
When youโre exposed to bright lights โ which contain blue light wavelengths โ in the evening, it may disrupt your production of the sleep hormone melatonin.
Some ways to help reduce your blue light exposure is to wear blue light blocking glasses โ especially if you use a computer or other digital screen for long periods of time โ and to avoid digital screens for 30 minutes to an hour before going to bed.
This can help your body better produce melatonin naturally as evening progresses, helping you sleep better.
